What is parfum? Finished perfume, concentration and fragrance ingredients
Check the intended use before comparing concentration labels

What does “parfum” mean?
It can describe a finished perfume, such as Parfum or Extrait de Parfum In ingredient trading, the Chinese word for fragrance concentrate can also refer to a blend used to make perfume Confirm the intended use before applying it
A product name is different from an ingredient label
CHANEL describes different concentration versions within its CHANCE range That explains the names used for those products; it does not establish an exact percentage for every other brand Fragrance creation can combine natural and synthetic materials, as IFRA explains A fragrance concentrate is not necessarily an essential oil
Ask three questions before buying
• Is this a finished perfume intended for direct use, or an ingredient requiring formulation?
• What is the official product name and how should it be used?
• Does any stated concentration refer to this exact product?
Avoid guessing a percentage from an informal sales description
Does higher concentration mean longer wear?
The label is a starting point Compare the actual product, its presence up close and its wear-test notes Quality, lasting wear and an everyday price belong in the same decision; a concentration name alone cannot make it for you
